About this opportunity
The Special Notice from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center concerns the purchase and installation of a third centrally managed alarmed Protected Distribution System drop box. The 377th Mission Support Group Contracting Office at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico intends to award a sole source contract to Network Integrity Systems of Hickory, North Carolina on January 17, 2024 for this purpose.
The Special Notice seeks the purchase and installation of a Protected Distribution System Drop Box under simplified acquisition procedures and other than full and open competition. Interested parties may submit information by January 2nd at 3:00 PM Mountain Time to argue they can provide the required product or services. However, the sole source award to Network Integrity Systems is justified because they have already installed two compatible systems at Kirtland AFB, and using this contractor will save $70,000 in initial server costs plus $10,000 annually in maintenance and support costs by leveraging their existing 24/7 service contract with AFIA. The Special Notice is set aside for total small businesses and aims to connect the AFIT/EXA facility to AFIA servers in compliance with Air Force security requirements.
Notice text
Purchase and installation of a third centrally managed alarmed Protected Distribution System (PDS) drop box is required. The contractor installation will comply with Air Force Systems Security Instruction (AFSSI) 7702 and AFSSI 7703 requirements. Network Integrity Systems has already installed two Protected Distribution Systems on Kirtland AFB that allows AFIT/EXA to connect to AFIA's servers and participate in the vendor's 24/7 service contract with AFIA. This will save $70,000 in up-front server costs, plus an additional $10,000 every year (beginning in Year 1) in 24/7 service-related costs.
