About this opportunity
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is seeking to procure a part-time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the U.S. Naval Hospital in Sigonella, Italy, through a Firm Fixed Price contract under FAR Part 12 for commercial services. The contractor must provide a certified sonographer with current ARDMS/ARRT certification and at least one year of recent sonography experience to perform comprehensive ultrasound technologist services in the Radiology Department. Key requirements include maintaining clinical workload, participating in quality assurance activities, and complying with military treatment facility protocols, while the contractor remains responsible for medical screenings, vaccinations, and adherence to health and safety regulations. The evaluation will be based on experience and price, with the government reserving the right to award without discussions. Critical deadlines include August 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM EST for written questions and September 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST for electronic proposal submissions to cinthia.g.funes.civ@health.mil.
This solicitation is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, with documentation also indicating it as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside, and there is no incumbent contractor as this represents a brand-new contract opportunity. The total contract value is listed at $19,000,000, though this appears to be a maximum ceiling rather than the expected award amount for the part-time position requiring 1,040 hours of service. The contract performance period spans one year from September 25, 2025, to September 24, 2026, with services to be performed at the U.S. Naval Hospital Sigonella located in Sicily, Italy. EU citizenship candidates are eligible to compete provided they hold the required U.S. ARDMS/ARRT certifications, and all offerors must maintain active registration on SAM.gov under the appropriate NAICS code 621512 for Diagnostic Imaging Centers.
