Orchard Fence Repair FY2020

SITE VISIT:  A site visit will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2020.  Meet at the:

George Adams Fish Hatchery

W 40 Skokomish Valley Road

Shelton, WA 98584

This is at the junction of HWY 101 and Skokomish Valley Road.  It’s about 30 minutes from there to the orchard.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project consists of the following major items of work: Replace approximately 1200 feet of existing 8 foot high fence (requiring approximately 87 new fence posts) at the Dennie Ahl Seed Orchard, Olympic National Forest.  Fence will be constructed and installed with post spacing, bracing, post depth, field fence height, tension and fasteners in similar fashion to existing fence. Copper-based wood preservative will be applied to all fresh-cut wood surfaces.

            PROJECT LOCATION

The project is located in the southeast ¼ of Section 24 Township 22 North, Range 5 West, W.M., also known as Dennie Ahl Seed Orchard. Accessibility may be determined from maps, which will be furnished by the Forest Service.

Project Manager is Mr. Mark Senger, 360-956-2358, or email mark.senger@usda.gov .

The Forest Service will proceed to issue a solicitation as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on or about MAY 15, 2020.  This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for small business concerns.  The Forest Service will award a firm fixed-price contract to that responsible Offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is fair and reasonable, and has been determined to be the best value to the Forest Service.  Quotes will be evaluated based upon: price; experience, and past performance.  The government estimated value is between $25,000 and $100,000.

A bid bond is not required.  Performance and payment bonds are not required for this project. Payment protection is required in the form of a payment bond or irrevocable letter of credit.   Construction Wage Rates (former known as Davis-Bacon wage rates) apply to any resulting contract.  The proposed contract-type is firm-fixed price.

All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the government. Prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the SAM on the part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award. Offerors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by contacting askSAM@gsa.gov, or via the Internet at  http://www.sam.gov.

For additional information contact Miley Sutherland, Contracting Officer at 360-956-2471, or Mr. Mark Senger, 360-956-2358, or email mark.senger@usda.gov .
