FENCING METHOD
Replace approximately 1200 feet of existing 8 foot high fence (requiring approximately 87 new fence posts) at the Dennie Ahl Seed Orchard as shown on attached map. Fence will be constructed and installed with post spacing, bracing, post depth, field fence height, tension and fasteners in similar fashion to existing fence. Copper-based wood preservative will be applied to all fresh-cut wood surfaces.
The fence will be constructed with the following materials:
Posts: 6’x6’x12’ treated lumber;
Bracing Posts: 6’x6’x10’ treated lumber;
Nails: Hot dipped galvanized fence staples
Fencing: Galvanized heavy gauge hog wire, wrapped wire not welded wire, 4 feet high;

2) Bracing similar to existing will be used to stabilize completed fence.
3) Two widths of 4 foot wide fencing will be attached to posts one above the other to construct an 8 foot high fence.
4) Fencing will be secured every 6 inches with fence staples on the posts.
5) Sections of fencing will be secured in the middle every 12 inches with hog rings.
FINAL CLEANUP
Contractor shall remove and dispose of all old posts and fencing material from the sections of fence designated for replacement.
