About this opportunity
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced its intent to sole-source a Firm Fixed Price maintenance contract to Leica Biosystems for preventative and corrective repair services on four Leica pathology instruments used by the Eastern Lab's Pathology Branch, with capability statements due to Angela.Carey@usda.gov by June 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, and parts for scheduled preventative maintenance (minimum one visit annually per instrument) and unlimited corrective repairs with a 48-hour on-site response requirement. Covered equipment includes a HistoCore Biocut Manual Microtome, an IP Slide Printer, and two RM2235 Manual Microtomes. The FSIS acknowledges that the RM2235 models may have reached end-of-life and requires respondents to explicitly confirm OEM part availability or identify certified alternative sources. Capability statements must address OEM authorization status, technical capability to service the specified instruments, and parts availability for both current and legacy equipment. Services must comply with Section 508 accessibility standards unless a waiver is requested. The Government intends to award a base year plus four option years, conditioned on parts remaining readily available throughout the contract period. No set-aside applies. NAICS 811210; PSC J066.
