About this opportunity
The United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service has published a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the procurement of an additional channel for a FIALYZER-1000 flow injection analyzer. The agency intends to award a single source, firm fixed price purchase order to FIAlab Instruments Inc. for this specialized laboratory equipment enhancement. This procurement will be processed under FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures), with no formal solicitation to be issued. The notice serves as an informational announcement rather than a request for proposals or quotations. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC code 6640 (Laboratory Equipment And Supplies).
The primary objective is to add phosphorus analysis capability to an existing FIALYZER-1000 system purchased in 2022, which currently measures ammonium, nitrate, and chloride across three channels. Potential sources who believe they can provide these services must submit substantiating documentation in writing within seven calendar days of the notice posting date (by September 2, 2025), with no telephone calls or oral communications accepted. The additional channel must be compatible with the existing system's 240-sample autosampler and measure orthophosphate using the Murphy Riley colorimetric method, with specific analytical ranges for soil phosphorus testing. Contractors must demonstrate their ability to provide a complete solution including the equipment, shipping, installation, training, service warranty, and compliance with "Buy America" requirements. The government reserves sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received to this notice.
