About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a notice of intent to sole source a Firm-Fixed-Price contract to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) for Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology in the Military Health System, with a response deadline of June 18, 2026. The sole-source justification rests on FAR 6.302-1: HJF is the only known source with requisite access to Military Health System data, resources, and analytical capabilities; award to another source would result in substantial duplication of cost and unacceptable delays.

The contract supports CDC's CKD surveillance and epidemiology activities through establishment and maintenance of an analytical database to assess CKD diagnosis, treatment, complications, and outcomes within the MHS. Work includes epidemiologic analyses of CKD and end-stage kidney disease, assessment of risk factors, evaluation of disease patterns among active-duty and non-active-duty populations, characterization of pediatric CKD, and investigation of rare causes of CKD.

The anticipated period of performance spans June 14, 2026 through June 13, 2030, comprising a one-year base period and three one-year option periods. Although this is not a competitive solicitation, the CDC will consider all capability statements, proposals, or quotations received within fifteen calendar days of publication. The Government retains sole discretion to proceed with the sole-source award or reopen competition based on responses received.
