About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source maintenance agreement to Lab Tech Support for a Parker LCMS30 nitrogen gas generator used in the Biotechnology Core Facilities Branch to support mass spectrometers. This procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b) authority for simplified acquisition procedures, as Lab Tech Support holds exclusive licensing agreements and proprietary data for this equipment, making them the only reasonably available source. The contract requires one preventative maintenance visit annually, comprehensive repair coverage including parts and labor using original equipment manufacturer parts, and a 24-48 hour service call response time. While this is a sole source procurement, the government will consider any quotations or responses received within 3 days of the notice issuance date of July 22, 2025, with responses due by July 25, 2025. All responses must be submitted via email to the contract specialist at zvm0@cdc.gov, though the determination whether to compete this contract remains at the government's discretion.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and identifies Lab Tech Support Inc. USA as both the intended sole source contractor and current service provider for this specialized equipment. The contract value is $5,584.66 for the annual maintenance agreement, representing a firm fixed price purchase order structure. The services will be performed for equipment located at the CDC facilities in Atlanta, Georgia, with the maintenance agreement covering a one-year period requiring the single annual preventative maintenance visit. Lab Tech Support was selected based on their unique qualifications including direct service provision with in-house engineers, extensive experience supporting mass spectrometry and HPLC instruments, and specialized capability to service lab-scale nitrogen generators, distinguishing them from other vendors who focus on larger commercial systems or rely on subcontractors.
