About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center San Diego has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to Cox California Telcom, LLC for internet services at the Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI). The contract will provide 300 MB down/50 MB up internet connectivity to support mission-critical training programs. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 13.106(1), which allows for a single source when no other supplier can meet the agency's specific requirements. SWMI supports training for Independent Duty Corpsmen and the Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School, serving approximately 200 students annually. Cox has been selected because they already have the necessary infrastructure installed within the SWMI facility.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to establish a firm fixed-price contract for continued internet services at the SWMI location. Interested parties must submit capability statements by November 20, 2024, demonstrating their ability to provide the required services and prove they are an authorized distributor. The contract will have a 1-year base period with 4 potential option years, beginning October 1, 2024. While this is a sole source notice, the government is still allowing other vendors to submit capability statements, though the intent to award to Cox is clear. The contract will cover internet service delivery, including a cable modem, specifically tailored to meet the operational and training needs of the medical institute. The place of performance is the SWMI facility in San Diego, California, with Rob Erickson identified as the point of contact for this procurement.
