About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Mission Acquisition Solutions (OMAS), on behalf of the National Institutes of Health Center for Information Technology, issued a Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to Andor Technology, Inc. for renewal of Imaris software licenses and maintenance, with a response deadline of July 17, 2026.
The contract covers BPI-Maintenance Infinity subscriptions for Imaris 11.0 serving both Core Facilities and Neuroscientists, for a one-year base period from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027, under FAR 13.106-1(b) authority. NIH researchers depend on Imaris for visualization, segmentation, and interpretation of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets; the existing licenses expire August 1, 2026, and renewal is required to maintain uninterrupted access to software, vendor support, security updates, patches, and maintenance services. Market research confirmed Imaris is proprietary to Andor Technology and unavailable through NIH enterprise programs or government-wide vehicles; Andor does not authorize third-party support.
The procurement will use Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable evaluation. Interested parties may submit capability statements by July 17, 2026 to matthew.fein@hhs.gov to demonstrate ability to provide equivalent products or services without operational disruption. If no affirmative responses are received, HHS intends to proceed with award to Andor Technology without further notice. Invoices must be submitted electronically through the Invoice Processing Platform.
