About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force, 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Bauer, Inc. for the acquisition of an 8731 Series Wheel Assembly Torque System. While interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by August 8, 2024, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete this proposed effort. No solicitation or request for quotes will be issued as a result of this notice. The estimated value of the contract is $172,520.00, and the statutory authority allowing other than full and open competition is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).

The 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska intends to award a firm fixed price, sole source, contract to Bauer, Inc., 175 Century DR. Bristol, CT 06010-7482, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The proposed contract action is for the acquisition of a 8731Series Wheel Assembly Torque System. Due to the need for compatibility with the current system along with and increase in unique capabilities, Bauer INC., is the only source authorized to provide the 8731Series Wheel Assembly Torque System.
The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for this simplified acquisition is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. The circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available to fulfill the stated requirement. Interested organizations, who believe they can meet the requirement, may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the requirement in writing to william.gentry.8@us.af.mil and Jake.montalbano@us.af.mil by the response date stated in this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications will not be accepted in response to this notice. No requests for proposals or quotes will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
