About this opportunity
The Navajo Area Indian Health Service, Gallup Service Unit has issued a Notice of Intent to Award multiple-award Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for various medical supplies. Published on February 4, 2026, by the Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service, this special notice announces the agency's intent to establish BPAs with four vendors: Arthrex, Olympus America, Teleflex, and Tri-Anim. The procurement encompasses surgical and medical instruments, including cannulas, fiber stitches, needles, syringes, curettes, electrodes, and respiratory/anesthesia supplies needed by the Gallup Indian Medical Center. The applicable NAICS code is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. This action represents the government's determination that the identified multiple-award BPAs constitute maximum practicable competition for the required supplies.
The primary objective of this Notice of Intent to Award is to inform the market of the government's contracting decisions while providing an opportunity for capable alternative vendors to submit capability statements for consideration in future awards if the medical center's needs expand. Interested vendors must submit their capability statements, price lists, and catalogs via email to the designated point of contact no later than February 19, 2026. While this notice explicitly states that no solicitation will be issued and that this is not a request for quotations, capable vendors meeting the requirements may be contacted for BPA establishment if the government determines additional sources are in its best interest. The anticipated performance period consists of a one-year base period from the award date with four option years available. All contractors must be registered with the System of Award Management (SAM) and may be required to comply with Indian Economic Enterprise certification requirements as outlined in the accompanying IHS representation form.
