About this opportunity
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/PZIBA) published a Notice of Intent to Award a sole-source contract for systems furniture and flooring procurement and installation at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The contract, valued at $132,396.00, is intended for Space and Asset Management Inc. dba Elements IV Interiors, located in Dayton, Ohio. This Special Notice was posted on January 9, 2026, and is issued under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 authority. The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT/CE) is the requiring organization for this Phase 2 workspace modernization project. The sole-source justification is based on the requirement for physical compatibility and interchangeability with Haworth furniture systems installed during Phase 1, which utilize proprietary physical connections not replicated by other manufacturers.
Interested parties must submit capability statements by January 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time demonstrating their ability to provide systems furniture that is 100% physically compatible and interchangeable with the existing Haworth system, including its proprietary connections. A simple statement of capability is insufficient; vendors must provide clear and convincing evidence of their technical capability to meet this requirement. The Phase 2 project involves furnishing Room 318 on the third floor of Building F20643 with 10 workstations featuring L-shaped work surfaces, height-adjustable bases, dual monitor arms, task chairs, and new flooring, with installation completion required by February 30, 2026. Responses and inquiries should be directed to Contract Specialist Brian Algeo or Contracting Officer Candice Snow via email. Contractors must also comply with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base entry procedures, including vehicle inspections at Gate 26A and adherence to applicable security protocols and building codes.
Notice text
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/PZIBA), on behalf of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT/CE), intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Space and Asset Management Inc. dba Elements IV Interiors, 3680 Wyse Rd, Dayton, OH 45414, for the procurement and installation of systems furniture and flooring at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The requirement is for all supplies, labor, and services necessary to complete Phase 2 of a workspace modernization project. This is a follow-on project that requires new workstations to be physically compatible and fully interchangeable with the existing Haworth furniture system installed during Phase 1. The Government's market research indicates that Haworth products utilize proprietary physical connections, and no other manufacturer produces a compatible system that can meet the Government's essential need for a single, integrated, and reconfigurable workspace.
In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the justification for the lack of competition is that the required proprietary product is only available from a single authorized source. Therefore, this acquisition is being conducted under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1.
Submission Instructions and Points of Contact:
Interested parties who believe they can satisfy the requirements must provide a capability statement with clear and convincing evidence of their ability to do so. The statement must demonstrate the vendor's capability to provide systems furniture that is 100% physically compatible and interchangeable with the existing Haworth system, including its proprietary connections. A simple statement of capability is not sufficient.
All responses, questions, and capability statements shall be submitted via email to the following points of contact no later than January 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time.
- Contract Specialist: Brian Algeo, brian.algeo.1@us.af.mil
- Contracting Officer: Candice Snow, candice.snow@us.af.mil
