About this opportunity

The Special Notice from the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command announces their intent to award a sole source contract to Miller Marine. The Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Bath, Maine requires damage control equipment including kitted boxes, plates and jubilee patches from Miller Marine to support outfitting for Navy ships T-AO 208, 209 and ESB7 prior to their trials and inspections.

The Notice includes a justification memo explaining that Miller Marine is the only authorized source able to provide the custom fabricated items per required specifications and drawings. An urgent delivery timeline is also required due to inspection deadlines. Interested parties are notified but no solicitation will be issued as the contract will be awarded to Miller Marine on a sole source basis under simplified acquisition procedures and other than full and open competition rules. Product information may be submitted by contractors in response to the Notice by the stated deadline of January 11, 2024, but the Government maintains discretion over competition of the proposed contract award.
