About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order to BioAnalytical Instruments, Inc. for the acquisition of SuperScript III Platinum One-Step qRT-PCR kits. These reagents have been approved by the FDA for the molecular diagnostic of several viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 and Zika, under Emergency Use Authorization.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to notify interested parties of the CDC's plan to procure these specialized reagents through a sole source contract action. Interested contractors have 15 days from the issuance of the notice to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. However, this notice is not a request for competitive quotations, and the government reserves the sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received. Contractors are instructed to submit any quotations or responses to the designated contract specialist by the June 27, 2024 deadline. The sole source procurement is justified by the CDC due to the uniqueness of the required product and the urgency of the requirement.
