About this opportunity
This pre-solicitation notice is for a bridge construction project located in Cottonwood Campground. The Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration seeks to award a contract to replace an existing roadway bridge crossing an arroyo. The successful offeror will construct a 105 foot long, 35 foot wide bridge with two 12 foot travel lanes and 4 foot shoulders using precast prestressed concrete girders and drilled shaft foundations. Evaluation will consider technical qualifications and cost, with award made to the responsible small business offering the best value. The anticipated timeline includes questions accepted through late September, bids due in late October, and award by mid November 2021.
The procurement has been set aside for total small business participation. Major work includes over 3,950 cubic yards of embankment, 2,120 cubic yards of class 3 riprap, and 1,220 cubic yards of class 4 riprap. Additional details specify 194 cubic yards of structural concrete, 430 linear feet of precast girders, and 186 linear feet of 36-inch drilled shafts. The project cost is estimated between $1.5 million and $3.5 million, and construction is planned from October 2021 through April 2022.
