About this opportunity
The Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration is seeking to procure the construction of a replacement bridge for the El Porvenir Bridge in the Santa Fe National Forest, which was destroyed by the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon fire in April 2022. The project includes the installation of a new 97-foot prefabricated steel bridge with a 16-foot width, as well as the removal of an existing low water crossing and realignment of the surrounding road. The anticipated advertisement date is October 2024 with an award date of December 2024, and construction is expected to take place between May 2025 and October 2025.
This opportunity is set aside for small businesses, and the estimated cost range for the project is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The principal work items include prefabricated steel bridge, structural concrete, drilled shafts, and embankment construction. There are some special considerations, such as the need to maintain access to a nearby private youth camp and restrictions on full closures during certain months.
