About this opportunity
The Federal Highway Administration is seeking a small business contractor to rehabilitate roadways and parking lots in two New Mexico state parks: El Vado and Heron Lake. The project involves full depth reclamation of 5.23 miles of asphalt roadway, including 4.61 miles along State Park Road 5001 and 0.62 miles along the Willow Creek Boat Ramp Access Road. The pre-solicitation notice indicates the contract will be competed as a total small business set-aside, with anticipated advertisement in May 2025 and construction scheduled for Summer 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed, the project requires technical capabilities in highway and road rehabilitation.
The contract is designated exclusively for small business participants under NAICS category 237310 for Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. The estimated project budget ranges from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000, with principal work items including 78,000 square yards of full depth reclamation, 13,000 tons of asphalt concrete pavement, and various supporting activities like pavement markings and roadway excavation. The project timeline anticipates construction beginning in Summer 2025 and completing by Fall 2025, with a total project duration of approximately four months. Key quantities include 33 miles of pavement markings, 60 square yards of concrete sidewalk, and 15 culvert cleaning operations. The Federal Highway Administration will manage this infrastructure improvement project targeting road and parking lot rehabilitation in New Mexico state parks.
