About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks a firm-fixed-price quotation for one 399 nm narrow linewidth fiber laser, with quotations due August 19, 2026 at 5:00 PM MDT and questions due August 12, 2026 at 5:00 PM MDT.
Place of performance is Boulder, Colorado. This is an unrestricted commercial product acquisition conducted as a combined synopsis/solicitation under NAICS 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
The laser system must deliver a center wavelength of 398.911 nm with linewidth less than 10 kHz at 100 microsecond integration, output power exceeding 1 watt, and collimated optical output with beam quality M² ≤ 1.20. The system requires monitor ports at 798 nm (greater than 5 mW) and 1596 nm (approximately 5 mW), optical power stability within 3 GHz, and PZT tuning bandwidth greater than 5 kHz. Additional requirements include air-cooled operation, a 3U rackmountable controller, minimum two-year warranty, and specified laser head dimensions. The system must be capable of frequency locking and tuning to support NIST's precision timekeeping and frequency measurement standards.
Quotations must be submitted electronically to matthew.delgado@nist.gov in three volumes: Volume I (Technical Quotation with manufacturer literature and country of origin), Volume II (Price Quotation inclusive of all shipping and delivery), and Volume III (Terms and Conditions addressing any exceptions). All quoters must maintain active SAM.gov registration at submission and throughout performance. Award will be made to the responsible quoter offering the lowest priced, technically acceptable quotation. The Government reserves the right not to award and may make an award without discussions based solely on initial quotes. Prototypes, demonstration models, used, or refurbished instruments will not be considered.
