About this opportunity

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Physics Measurement Laboratory intends to solicit EIMAC brand vacuum tubes by July 29, 2026, with a potential small business set-aside pending market research results. NIST is conducting a sources-sought phase to identify vendors capable of supplying one 4-400C tube, two 4CX5000A tubes, and two 4CX15000A tubes for WWV and WWVB radio transmitters. If market research identifies at least two qualified small businesses meeting specifications, the acquisition will be set-aside for small business. Place of performance is Fort Collins, Colorado, with direct delivery via UPS or FedEx required within two weeks after order receipt.

The three tube models are mandatory EIMAC products with no substitutions or alternative brands permitted. Warranty coverage is prorated: 4-400C at 12 months or 3,500 hours; 4CX5000A at 12 months or 10,000 hours; 4CX15000A at 12 months or 5,000 hours. NAICS 334419 (Other Electronic Component Manufacturing) applies with a 750-employee small business size standard. Vendors must submit electronic capability statements (four pages maximum) to matthew.delgado@nist.gov by July 29, 2026, including company name, country of manufacture, specification sheets, product examples, typical lead time, and manufacturing origin. Sales brochures and quotes are not accepted. Interested vendors must clearly identify the manufacturing country in their response.
