About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command is issuing an 8(a) sole-source procurement for next-generation sequencing reagents and consumables to support NAMRU SOUTH's Virology Department, with proposals due June 12, 2026. The requirement restricts competition to 8(a) contractors.
NAMRU SOUTH requires Illumina-compatible sequencing and library preparation kits for NGS projects conducted in Peru. The specific items are PhiX Control v3 (2 units), MiSeq Reagent Kit v3 600-cycle (10 units), Nextera XT DNA Library Preparation Kit (3 units), Nextera XT Index Kit v2 Set A (1 unit), MiniSeq High Output Reagent Kit 300-cycle (6 units), and Nextera XT Index Kit v2 Set B (1 unit). Library preparation kits must support approximately 50 nanogram DNA input with enzymatic fragmentation, size selection, end-repair, A-tailing, and ligation in a single reaction, and permit dual indexing at both 5' and 3' ends. Sequencing kits must deliver more than 150 cycles for paired-end libraries with at least 2.0 gigabases per run and Q30 values, including internal controls for run validation. All materials require cold chain maintenance throughout delivery. The vendor must communicate expiration dates to end users prior to shipment pending approval. Delivery is required upon award signature to NAMRU SOUTH in Bellavista, Callao, Peru, with no hazardous materials identified in this procurement.
Notice text
The laboratory of the Virology Department of the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit SOUTH (NAMRU SOUTH) is looking to purchase reagents to prepare libraries using human samples that later will be sequenced in the MiSeq and MiniSeq platforms developed by Illumina, as part of the projects of next-generation sequencing (NGS) that are being conducted at this command.
The reagents are:
FC-110-3001 PhiX Control v3, MS-102-3003 MiSeq Reagent Kit v3 (600-cycle), FC-131-1096 Nextera XT DNA Library Preparation Kit (96 samples), FC-131-2001 Nextera XT Index Kit v2 Set A (96 indexes, 384 samples), FC-420-1003 MiniSeq High Output Reagent Kit (300-cycles), FC-131-2002 Nextera XT Index Kit v2 Set B (96 indexes, 384 samples).
Items have to be delivered to NAMRU SOUTH, located in Bellavista, Callao - Peru
