About this opportunity
NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking a comprehensive contract for Next Generation Scalable Data Engineering, Operations, and Informatics Support for Open Science (Next Gen), targeting advanced scientific data capabilities. The solicitation aims to provide resources for the Interagency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) to maintain leadership in science informatics, machine learning, AI techniques, and scientific data management. Specifically, the contract requires expertise in spatio-temporal algorithms, science data systems, and advanced scientific data storage and archiving. Proposals are due by October 16, 2024, with an anticipated contract award date of July 23, 2025. The government will evaluate proposals based on technical capabilities, machine learning expertise, and the ability to support cutting-edge scientific data operations.
The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 541715 and a size standard of 1,000 employees. It will be structured as a five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with firm-fixed price task orders, consolidating two existing IMPACT contracts with a historical value of over $33 million. The total contract value is not to exceed $76 million, with a performance period from August 15, 2025, through September 30, 2027, including three 1-year option periods and a 6-month option to extend services. The work will be performed primarily off-site at the contractor's facilities within the United States, with no government-furnished property provided. The solicitation represents a strategic effort to enhance NASA's scientific data engineering capabilities through a focused, small business-driven approach.
