About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command, procuring on behalf of Naval Consolidated Brig (NAVCONBRIG) at Joint Base Charleston, seeks delivery of one integrated Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing system comprising brand-name Bambu Lab H2C printers, accessories, maintenance packages, and 3DXTech FM1 filament drying systems, with proposals due September 16, 2026, at 4:30 PM local time. This is a total small business set-aside, 100 percent.
The procurement is brand-name justified under FAR 11.204(a)(2)(ii). Market research determined that alternative 3D printers and drying systems fail to meet mandatory Navy compliance standards, including Department of Navy Application and Database Management System (DADMS) approval and Navy Information Technology Approval System (NAV-ITAS) authorization for use in correctional facilities. The Bambu Lab H2C is the only 3D printer currently approved and listed on DADMS with NAV-ITAS authorization for Navy correctional environments. The 3DXTech FM1 Filament Maintainer is the only industrial active-drying cabinet configured with the required 5-to-1 port ratio to support the 20-printer layout without voiding manufacturer warranties.
Delivery is required by October 31, 2026, to Naval Consolidated Brig, 1050 Remount Road, Building 3107, Charleston, SC 29406-3515. The four firm-fixed-price line items comprise 20 Bambu Lab H2C Combo-Basic Bundles, 40 Bambu Lab H2C Combo-Ultimate Starter Kits, 20 Bambu Lab H2C Maintenance Kits, and 4 3DXTech FM1 Filament Maintainers. Technical requirements include contactless hotend swapping, inductive fast-heating to target in 8 seconds or less, 10 kg minimum extrusion force, motion accuracy under 50 micrometers, 65°C heated chamber, 330 mm × 320 mm × 325 mm build envelope, and local offline USB/MicroSD operation for network isolation. Evaluation uses Lowest-Priced, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) methodology with technical acceptability on a pass/fail basis. NAICS 333248; PSC 3610. Amendment 1, effective September 15, incorporates the Brand Name Justification document into Section J.
