Item Qty Description / Included Components

4. 3DXTech FM1

Filament Maintainer

High-performance active dry-storage system containing:

Up to 50 kg storage capacity across 2 racks (reels 0.5 kg to 10 kg) Active drying maintaining chamber air at a -40∘C dewpoint 5 × accessible ports for direct filament feeding to multiple printers Digital display monitoring real-time temperature and relative humidity Modular shelving and stackable design compatible with the FD1 model.

Mandatory Technical & Performance Requirements:

To meet the minimum needs of the Government, the proposed 3D printing systems must satisfy the following technical characteristics:

A. Hotend Changing & Thermal Management System Wireless/Contactless Connection: Toolhead/hotend swapping must utilize an entirely contactless data and power transmission layout to prevent pin oxidation, mechanical fatigue, or connectivity loss over long-term cycling.

Inductive Fast-Heating: Nozzle heating must utilize an inductive drive mechanism reaching target printing temperatures from ambient in 8 seconds or less.

Onboard Smart Profiling: Hotend assemblies must feature persistent internal memory chips that save and store filament settings directly on the hardware cartridge for automated material recognition upon pickup.

Low-Waste Tool Swapping: The printer must deploy an internal rack mechanism running at least six hotends simultaneously inside the chamber without reducing the usable build volume. The mechanism must achieve physical nozzle separation to eliminate traditional color-flushing/purge-tower waste.

B. Extruder Performance & Real-Time Self-Diagnostics

High-Force Servo Drive: The extruder must be driven by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) Servo generating a minimum of 10 kg of raw extrusion force. Standard open-loop stepper motors do not qualify.

20 kHz High-Frequency Sampling: The system must feature diagnostic closed-loop architecture sampling physical resistance and motor position at a rate of 20,000 times per second (20 kHz).

Active Failure Prevention: The controller must possess the physical feedback resolution to actively detect filament grinding, clogs, and minor nozzle restrictions in real time to pause the print job prior to mechanical jam failure.

C. Build Volume & Motion Precision

Chamber Enclosure: Fully enclosed workspace with an actively heated chamber capable of reaching up to 65°C and a heatbed capable of reaching 120°C.

Minimum Build Envelope: Spatial dimensions of approximately 330 mm × 320 mm ×

325 mm.

Motion Accuracy: Verified positional and distance-independent motion accuracy of under 50 micrometers (<50 μm) using dedicated vision/linear encoders with automated mechanical drift compensation.

D. Multi-Material Filament Scale

Natively Expandable Ecosystem: System must seamlessly expand via automated material stations (AMS) to manage a minimum of 24 distinct filament spools in a single automated print job.

Automatic Macro Interactivity: Native structural handshakes between slicer profiles, cloud file-repositories, and machine calibration parameters (pressure advance, automatic nozzle offset) requiring zero manual g-code modifications.

E. Safety & Data Security Specifications

Chamber Safety: Enclosure structural panels must be entirely constructed from certified UL94 V-0 flame-retardant material.

Industrial Filtration Suite: An integrated 3-stage filtration assembly combining a G3 pre-filter, an H12 HEPA particulate filter, and a coconut-shell activated carbon filter to catch ultra-fine particulates and toxic VOC gases during engineering-grade prints.

Local Offline Operations: For security-sensitive data protocols, the unit must offer a completely isolated offline only usb or MicroSD print operation mode allowing local updates and prints with total network isolation via USB or MicroSD.
