About this opportunity
The Medical Readiness Contracting Officer-W (MRCO-W) on behalf of Brooke Army Medical Center is seeking potential sources for Mobile O-Arm Scanners, specialized medical imaging equipment used in surgical navigation for spine hardware placement, biopsies, shunt placement, and laser catheter procedures. The Department of the Army Medical Command is conducting this Sources Sought Notice to identify capable contractors and assess market competition prior to issuing a formal solicitation. This notice does not constitute an actual Request for Quote or a binding commitment to award a contract, but rather serves as an information-gathering tool to support acquisition planning and strategy development. Interested parties must submit company information including their entity name, Unique Entity ID, CAGE code, and point of contact details by the April 2, 2026 deadline. The Government will evaluate responses to determine whether sufficient competition exists; if adequate sources are not identified, the Government reserves the right to award a sole-source contract to the current contractor supported by appropriate justification documentation.
This opportunity is not designated as a set-aside contract. Medtronic USA, Inc. is the current incumbent contractor under follow-on contract W81K00-23-P-0108, which may indicate a preference or likely recompete scenario, though responses from competing vendors are actively solicited. The notice does not specify an award value, budget range, or detailed quantity requirements, as this is a preliminary market research phase rather than a formal procurement announcement. Potential offerors should note that non-response to this Sources Sought Notice does not prevent future participation should a formal Request for Quote be issued. Contractors are advised to monitor the Government procurement channels regularly for updates and subsequent solicitation announcements related to this medical equipment requirement.
