About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey to identify potential contractors for crane support services at the Bakersfield Airport Traffic Control Tower in California. The procurement seeks a mobile crane with a licensed operator to replace ten cab glass windows, with specific technical requirements including lifting 12-foot glass units weighing up to 4,000 pounds at heights between 62-72 feet above ground level. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement detailing their service types, previous contract experiences, and years in business by January 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST. The FAA will use these responses to determine whether the contract can be set aside for small businesses and develop a source list for the upcoming solicitation. Evaluation criteria will focus on vendor capabilities, past performance, and ability to meet the technical specifications outlined in the Statement of Work.

The market survey is designated as a total small business opportunity, potentially allowing small businesses, disadvantaged small businesses, and 8(a) certified firms to compete. The crane rental services are required for 10 consecutive days from February 22 through March 3, 2025, with specific technical constraints including a lift radius of approximately 110 feet, crane tip height not exceeding 126 feet above ground level, and maintaining crane load capacity under 65%. Vendors must provide comprehensive documentation including CAD drawings, lift survey data, and operator certifications. While the exact award value is not specified, the scope requires a vendor capable of providing specialized equipment, safety protocols, and precise operational capabilities for a complex airport infrastructure project. Interested parties should submit their responses via email to Bryon Nolan, referencing the Market Survey Identifier 6973GH-25-01460.
