About this opportunity

The Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey for the annual inspection, load testing, and certification of overhead Gantry Cranes at various southern and northern border locations. This activity will support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The FAA is seeking statements of interest, capabilities, and rough cost estimates from interested businesses that can provide the required services per the draft Statement of Work (SOW). Respondents are encouraged to provide comments on the government's approach and to indicate if they can fulfill all the requirements, including the Gantry Crane inspection, load test, and certification service.

The FAA has not yet determined the nature of the competition, and it may decide to do a full and open competition or set aside all or part of the procurement for small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, or eligible 8(a) certified firms. The market survey is being conducted to obtain the information necessary to determine whether adequate competition exists to set aside the potential acquisition. Interested vendors must submit a copy of their SBA 8(a) certification letter, if applicable. The period of performance is from July 1, 2024, to September 3, 2024, and the work will take place at 16 specified locations along the southern and northern U.S. borders.
