About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps seeks quotations for percussion instruments—three 4.6 Octave Marimbas (Marimba One Model #9649) and three 3 Octave Vibraphones (Marimba One Model #9031)—with quotations due October 14, 2026 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time and questions due October 10. This is a sole-source procurement under a "Determination that Only One Source is Reasonably Available" justification, with Marimba One identified as the only manufacturer capable of meeting the requirement, particularly due to its factory custom engraving capability essential for the unit's capital asset tracking and operational security.
The procurement is a Total Small Business set-aside. Place of performance is Marine Barracks Washington, Building 169, Washington, DC. All supplies must be manufactured in the USA or comply with DFARS Buy American provisions. Both instruments require A=442Hz tuning; custom engraving is mandatory, with placement deferred to the manufacturer. The marimbas feature Horizon Synthetic Keyboard bars, Basso Bravo resonators, gas-spring height adjustment (34"–39.5"), integrated aluminum accessory rails, quick-release wave lock system, 8" locking casters, and weight of 120–125 lbs each. The vibraphones feature silver anodized aluminum bars, passive acoustic resonators without motors, precision-adjustable mechanical damper systems with swiveling foot pedal, Gas-Spring Izzy Height Adjustment System with laser-engraved tape measures, integrated heavy-duty aluminum accessory bar, 8" locking casters, and maximum weight of 115 lbs each.
Delivery is required by November 30, 2026 to Building 169 on FOB Destination terms; all compliant delivery dates on or before November 30 will be evaluated equally. All freight charges must be incorporated into unit prices; separate freight line items are prohibited. Award will be made to the responsible quoter providing best value based on price and past performance evaluated per the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS), with yellow or red ratings deemed unacceptable. The resulting action is a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order.
