About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps is requesting information on the procurement of percussion instruments by October 7, 2026. The requirement calls for three 4.6-octave marimbas (Marimba One Model #9649) and three 3-octave vibraphones (Marimba One Model #9031). This is a sources-sought notice, not a formal solicitation.
The marimbas must feature Horizon Synthetic Keyboard bars with low E tuning, Basso Bravo resonators, and an adjustable height range of 34 to 39.5 inches via gas-spring mechanism. Each unit measures 91.5 inches by 38.5 inches, weighs between 120 and 125 pounds, and includes 8-inch locking casters. The frame rails require a quick-release wave-lock system for rapid breakdown and transport. Pitch standard is A=442Hz. Custom engraving is optional.
The vibraphones must use silver-anodized aluminum bars with passive acoustic resonator arrays (no motorized systems) and precision-adjustable mechanical damper bars with fully swiveling foot pedals for even dampening across the keyboard. Height adjustment employs an integrated gas-spring system with laser-engraved tape measures. Each unit measures 57 inches by 32 inches, weighs no more than 115 pounds, and includes 8-inch locking casters and a 1.5-inch square aluminum accessory bar. Pitch standard is A=442Hz. Custom engraving is optional.
The procurement carries no set-aside restriction. Place of performance is not specified in the notice.
