About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command's 940 MXS is procuring one laser cutter and engraver to replace a non-repairable laser etcher and maintain operational etching capabilities for tool marking and precision template production. The equipment must meet minimum specifications including 110V power requirements, minimum 155-watt laser power, work area of approximately 36" x 55" x 8", and capability to cut and engrave diverse materials including acrylic, fiberglass, wood, sheet metal, granite, glass, and marble. Required accessories include a steel air compressor, water chiller, fume extractor, air exhaust fan with venting pipe, and rotary attachment, with delivery required within 60 calendar days after award. The solicitation FA468625QC015 will be evaluated using a lowest-priced technically acceptable basis with two factors: technical capability including product specifications and delivery, and price. The question deadline was August 22, 2025, and proposal responses are due September 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM PST following Amendment 01 which extended the original September 2 deadline.
This procurement is set aside 100% for small businesses under NAICS code 333517 (Machine Tool Manufacturing) with a size standard of 500 employees, though the original solicitation indicated it was specifically designated for Women-Owned Small Businesses before Amendment 01 revised it to Total Small Business set-aside. No current contractors or incumbents are identified in the solicitation documents, and no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed. The single unit of laser cutting and engraving equipment represents a critical capability replacement for the military maintenance squadron's daily operations. Performance will take place at Beale Air Force Base, California, with work to be accomplished between 0800-1600 hours, Monday through Friday, excluding the twelve standard federal holidays. The contractor must coordinate delivery at least two weeks prior with the government point of contact and adhere to base closure procedures during weather or unforeseen circumstances.
