About this opportunity

The United States Special Operations Command is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive food catering services for the 3D Ranger Battalion's training exercise at KI Sawyer, Michigan. The contractor must deliver a total of 42,000 meals consisting of 14,000 breakfast, 14,000 lunch, and 14,000 dinner meals over a 15-day period from August 7-21, 2025, with each meal providing a minimum of 1,300 calories and 30 grams of protein. The food service operation will run on a reverse cycle to support night operations, requiring meal service between 1300-0200 hours, and the contractor must provide all materials, equipment, personnel, setup, and cleanup services at the Marquette Regional Airport. Key requirements include U.S. citizen food service personnel with ServSafe certification, on-site food preparation capabilities, and compliance with strict quality control and safety standards. The procurement will be awarded using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation criteria, with the original quote deadline of July 9, 2025 extended to July 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM EST following Amendment 0001. Vendor questions were originally due by June 20, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST.

This solicitation does not include any set-aside designations and is classified under NAICS code 722310 (Food Service Contractors) with a size standard of $47,000,000. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the solicitation documentation. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the substantial scale of providing 42,000 meals over 15 days suggests a significant contract value, particularly given the specialized requirements for high-calorie, high-protein meals and the need for qualified personnel and equipment. The performance will take place at the Marquette Regional Airport in Gwinn, Michigan, though the meals will ultimately be delivered to the 0075 IN BN 03 Ranger Battalion at Fort Moore, Georgia. The contractor must submit a complete 15-day menu along with their quote and demonstrate capability to handle the logistical complexity of serving nearly 3,000 meals per day while maintaining strict nutritional and safety standards. Amendment 0001 significantly expanded the scope by adding lunch meals to the original breakfast and dinner requirements, effectively increasing the total meal count by 14,000 meals.
