About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southwestern Region is conducting a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified vendors capable of providing moving and disposal services for the relocation of its Kansas City, Missouri Regional Office from 901 Locust Street to 1100 Main Street. The procurement encompasses two primary contract line items: relocation of approximately 1,150 standard boxes and 63 miscellaneous items including office equipment and furniture from floors 8-11, and disposal and recycling of contents from floors 1-5 and the basement. Contractors must demonstrate capability to perform all labor, equipment provision, and transportation services during standard business hours (7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) while maintaining strict security protocols, including employee background checks and X-ray and magnetometer screening of all personnel and items. Respondents must submit their company name, UEI number, and small business status via email to todd.butler@faa.gov and molly.lipka@faa.gov by 1:00 p.m. CST on January 12, 2026, with the subject line stating "697DCK-26-R-00088 ACE FURNITURE MOVE." This Sources Sought Notice is issued purely for market research purposes and does not constitute a binding commitment to award a contract, though responses will inform the FAA's acquisition strategy and determine the availability of qualified small business concerns.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is classified under NAICS code 484210 (Used Household and Office Goods Moving) and PSC code N071 (Installation of Equipment – Furniture). The disposal scope estimates approximately 150 offices and 500 workstations requiring removal, with the contractor assuming responsibility for daily debris removal, site protection, and post-move walk-throughs to ensure property integrity. No specific budget range or award value has been disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, and no incumbent contractor information has been identified. The FAA Special Projects Branch (APM-340) issued this notice on December 10, 2025, and anticipates issuing a formal solicitation on Sam.Gov following the completion of the market research phase. Vendors are advised that failure to provide requested information or respond to any question will be interpreted as an inability to perform the required services, and the government will not compensate respondents for costs associated with developing their responses to this notice.

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a(n) Invitation for Bid (IFB), Request for Quotation (RFQ), or Request for Proposal (RFP). Additionally, there is no obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described within this notice now or in the future. Should a solicitation be issued, the solicitation will be available on Sam.Gov.  The FAA anticipates a future procurement for the relocation and disposal of items listed in the Statement of Work (SOW).

Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be used to determine whether sufficient small business concerns exist who are capable of performing the work required by this procurement. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFORMATION AND/OR ANSWER ANY QUESTION WILL BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE FAA TO BE A STATEMENT THAT THE VENDOR RESPONDING TO THIS NOTICE IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE.
