About this opportunity

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a sole source justification for awarding contract 50310225P0020 to Markit North America, Inc. for enterprise access to Credit Default Swap (CDS) reference data services. The service will deliver comprehensive CDS reference data through the Wharton WRDS platform, including unique identification codes for CDS reference entities and obligations, information on legal relationships between entities and obligations, verified corporate events affecting CDS pricing and trading, and data on CDS indexes and their constituents. The SEC justified the sole source award by determining that Markit North America is the only known vendor capable of meeting all specified data requirements, and after posting a Notice of Intent to Sole Source on SAM.gov, no other potential vendors responded. The contract has a total value of $289,596 and includes a one-year base period with four one-year option periods, featuring a 5% annual escalation clause. This data service is essential for supporting trade confirmations and reducing counterparty risks in CDS transactions that the SEC regulates.
