About this opportunity
The Securities and Exchange Commission has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a single source purchase order to Markit North America Inc. for Credit Default Swap (CDS) reference data services. The SEC has determined that Markit is the only source capable of reasonably meeting their requirements under FAR Part 13.106-1(b). The contract is structured as a fixed-price purchase order with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The services will be delivered through the Wharton WRDS platform and include comprehensive CDS reference data covering entities, obligations, corporate actions, and credit events. The agency intends to award this purchase order on or around July 10, 2025.
The purpose of this procurement is to obtain specialized CDS reference data that includes unique identification codes for reference entities and obligations, information on legal relationships between entities and obligations, verified corporate events affecting CDS pricing and trading, and comprehensive CDS index data with constituent information and weighting factors. Interested parties who believe they can meet these requirements must submit interest and capability statements by June 17, 2025, to the designated contracting officer and contract specialist via email only. This is not a competitive solicitation, and no formal request for quotes will be issued. While the SEC will consider responses from other potential contractors, the decision to proceed with the single source award remains at the government's discretion. The notice falls under NAICS code 519290 for Web Search Portals and All Other Information Services.
