The procurement is specifically targeting maintenance services for this specialized laboratory equipment, with Life Technologies Corporation identified as the sole potential contractor. The contract opportunity does not have a specific set-aside designation and is open market. The procurement is for service maintenance at 915 N. Grand Blvd. in St. Louis, MO, with Life Technologies Corporation, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, identified as the original equipment manufacturer and sole potential service provider. While no specific contract value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract will be a firm-fixed-price award for ongoing preventive maintenance of the Genexus ION purification system. The VA emphasizes that this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, and any responses must include clear evidence of capability and an Authorization Service Letter from the original equipment manufacturer. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the contract, despite allowing interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities.
