About this opportunity

This Special Notice was published by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office regarding their intent to negotiate a sole-source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The notice intends to award the contract to Olympus America Inc. located in San Jose, California for repair of three leased Olympus medical scopes at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center.

The purpose of the Special Notice is to inform contractors that the government believes only Olympus America possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet the scope repair requirement. Contractors have until February 23, 2024 to submit a capabilities statement or quotation showing clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. However, the determination to not compete this proposed purchase order is at the government's discretion. The requirement includes repair of an Olympus gastroscope, two rhino-laryngoscope videoscopes, and contractors must demonstrate they can repair equipment they do not own to be eligible for the contract.
