About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 7, issued a Notice of Intent to award a sole-source contract to Bayer HealthCare LLC for preventive maintenance and repair services on Government-owned Bayer MEDRAD injector systems at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, with a response deadline of August 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
The VA intends to award under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) authority based on market research establishing that required services—including manufacturer proprietary software updates, calibration, cybersecurity updates, and maintenance procedures—are available only to Bayer-authorized, trained, and licensed personnel with access to Bayer's proprietary software and manufacturer-certified tools. The contract encompasses all labor, travel, preventive maintenance inspections, technical support, replacement of covered components, and repair services as detailed in the Statement of Work.
The period of performance runs from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with two option years extending through September 30, 2029. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating authorization and ability to perform proprietary software updates and manufacturer-certified maintenance to Contracting Officer Jessica Cummings at Jessica.Cummings@va.gov. The Government reserves the right to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received.
