About this opportunity

The 129 Rescue Wing, under the Department of the Army California National Guard, intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed price contract for the inspection and repair of Megadoor systems at Building 662 on Moffett Air National Guard Base in California. The primary objective is to restore full operability of the hangar door system, which has experienced multiple failures due to misaligned safety components and mechanical issues. Key requirements include completing repairs within 30 days of contract award, providing all necessary labor, parts, tools, and equipment, and ensuring technicians hold American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) certification. The contractor must designate a Contract Manager within 15 days of award and submit a comprehensive Hangar 662 Repair Inspection Report within 10 business days after completion. Work must be performed during normal government duty hours (6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday) under strict safety and security protocols. The response deadline for interested parties to submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet requirements is January 9, 2026.

This procurement is not subject to any small business set-aside designation. ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems US Inc, located at 1900 Airport Road, Monroe, North Carolina 28110, has been identified as the sole source contractor because it is the only entity certified to perform maintenance, repairs, or modifications to Megadoor Systems. The solicitation is issued under the authority of 10 United States Code 3204(a)(1) and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2), which permits other than full and open competition. The designated NAICS code is 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors) with a size standard of $22 million. While no specific contract value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, interested parties may submit written responses to austin.breault.1@us.af.mil demonstrating that competition would be advantageous to the Government, though the Government reserves the right to proceed with the sole source award at its discretion.
