About this opportunity
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RMZB) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, issued a Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to V.J. Technologies, Inc., for procurement, configuration, and integration of one high-energy flat panel Digital Detector Array into an existing proprietary VJT XCT system at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, with responses due by August 31, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. No small business set-aside applies; the sole-source justification under RFO 12.102(a) rests on VJT's exclusive possession of proprietary software, source synchronization hardware (HE Sync Lynx Box), data rights, and engineering specifications required for integration with the existing system. Market research confirmed no third-party integrators, authorized resellers, or alternative vendors possess the required proprietary data or software access.
The detector must feature an active imaging area of at least 17 inches by 17 inches with pixel pitch not exceeding 140 micrometers, high-contrast scintillator (DRZ+ Gadox or equivalent), integrated tungsten shielding, and Gigabit Ethernet interface supporting minimum 4 frames per second at 1x1 binning and 15 frames per second at 2x2 binning. Delivery and integration must complete within 10 weeks. A 12-month warranty covering commercial parts and labor is required.
All responsible sources may submit capability statements, quotations, or exceptions to sole-source procurement via email to Jason B. Sav at jason.sav@us.af.mil by August 31, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, subject line reading "Notice of Intent to Award SS - Digital Detector Array (DDA)." Responses will be evaluated solely to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted; this notice is not a competitive solicitation.
