About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Space Command seeks an inflatable planetarium system capable of projecting 360-degree video content and astronomy curriculum for community and educational outreach, with responses due August 17, 2026 and questions due August 11, 2026. The procurement is set-aside for small businesses (NAICS 334310, 750-person size standard).

Place of performance is Melbourne, Florida. The system must include a minimum 5-meter diameter inflatable dome constructed to ASTM F2374-24 standards, 4K resolution projection hardware with fisheye or dome-specific lens, integrated or portable speaker system, dedicated pre-configured laptop or tablet for operation, protective wheeled transport cases, and astronomy curriculum package with perpetual license or minimum three-year software updates. The dome must accommodate a minimum seating capacity of 25 adults and be fully portable with rapid setup and teardown capability. All items must comply with Trade Agreements Act and Buy American requirements; however, if the projector, computer, and software are fully TAA and Buy American compliant and represent the majority of system cost, a dome manufactured outside the United States may be acceptable provided it is assembled domestically. All contractor personnel must provide NDAA Section 889 representations certifying no prohibited telecommunications or video surveillance hardware from designated manufacturers is included.

Delivery must be completed within 120 days of award to Patrick Space Force Base on an FOB Destination basis with delivery costs included in the quoted price. The vendor must provide one-year comprehensive warranty covering parts and labor, vendor-provided training covering setup, operation, emergency procedures, and teardown, and access to technical support during standard business hours. Formal third-party testing for ASTM F2374-24 compliance is not mandatory; manufacturer's written certification backed by the offeror satisfies the requirement. Award will be made on a firm-fixed-price basis to the responsible offeror whose offer represents the best overall value considering price, technical performance, delivery timeline, and past performance. Questions and Answers documents 1 and 2 were added August 14, 2026.
