About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District has issued a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day Event for the TOG Temporary Stables project at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA. The event is scheduled for January 23, 2025, at 0900 AM EDT and will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. The project involves constructing temporary facilities to support the Old Guard Caisson Detachment of the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Regiment, which provides funeral and ceremonial duties at Arlington National Cemetery. The scope includes a 10,000 square foot temporary stables building with 26 horse stalls, a 500 square foot storage structure, and a 4,200 square foot temporary office space for 20 personnel. The temporary facility is intended to be operational for approximately 3 years.
The purpose of the Industry Day is to survey contractor capabilities, gather questions, and assess industry interest in the project, which is being explored as an 8(a) ANC/HNO/Tribal sole source requirement. Contractors are highly encouraged to complete a provided survey to help the project delivery team expedite contract action, though the survey is not mandatory. The event will feature a presentation by TOG and USACE, followed by a Q&A session, with an opportunity for contractors to submit advance questions. Interested parties can participate in the virtual event and potentially schedule in-person capability briefs on January 24, 2025. It is critical to note that this is not a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote, or Invitation for Bid, and the government makes no commitment to issue a solicitation or make an award. The project presents several challenges, including utilizing current permits, managing water runoff, meeting a shortened project timeline, and ensuring proper drainage and infrastructure integration.
