About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command seeks an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for lease of seven types of specialty hospital beds and related equipment, with proposals due August 13, 2026, and questions due August 4, 2026.
Place of performance includes Brooke Army Medical Center and Irwin Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, with delivery also to several BAMC outlying clinics (Jennifer Moreno, Taylor Burk, Schertz Medical Home, and Westover Medical Home). The contract requires delivery within 30 days of order receipt under standard conditions, and within four hours of notification for 24-hour, seven-day-per-week emergency demand.
The seven bed types are mattress covers with microclimate management, intensive care beds with integrated weighing scales and patient movement detection, smart connected medical-surgical beds with nurse call system connectivity, early mobility verticalization beds capable of positioning to 82 degrees standing, motorized pressure-relief bariatric chairs, bariatric chairs with midline control, and automated axial proning system beds. Vendors must provide on-site training and education at no cost to the Government, immediately notify the Contracting Officer of recalls or defects, and notify immediately if unable to fulfill orders. The NAICS code is 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing); PSC is 6530 (Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils, and Supplies).
The base ordering period runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with four optional 12-month renewal periods extending through September 30, 2031. Pricing must be submitted on a daily lease basis per unit across all ordering periods. No set-aside applies. Evaluation uses technical capability and price factors. Points of contact are Jeremiah C. Diaz, Primary COR (210-539-1434) and Christopher R. Reed, Secondary COR Lead (210-916-8905).

Beds Questions/Answers POSTED
Questions #1: The current contract includes three delivery locations (BAMC, CRDAMC and ISR). This solicitation appears to identify only Brooke Army Medical Center as the delivery location. Can you please confirm whether this requirement is intended to cover only BAMC, or if additional locations will be added by amendment?
Answer #1: there are only 2 delivery locations: BAMC and ISR only. The SOW shows the location of delivery
Question #2: Additionally, can you confirm whether the estimated quantity of 60 per CLIN is the total estimated quantity for the entire 5-year ordering period, or an annual estimate?
Answer #2: This is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) meaning the Government is not sure when and how much will be used at any given time. That’s 60 jobs and not each.
Question #3: Can you please clarify what the QTYs of 60 and Unit of Measure of Job are in reference to? The spreadsheet requests daily prices, but, the actual solicitation references the above units and verbiage. Also, is there an estimated amount of rental days per item?
Answer #3:This will be an indefinite Quantity indefinite delivery (IDIQ) contract, which means the government is not sure how many they will be required to rent at any given time. The spreadsheet provided asks for the unit price of each bed the government will need. The need for specific bed and rental days is unknown. The vendors are supposed to fill only pricing Excel.
