About this opportunity
The 30th Contracting Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential vendors capable of inspecting and repairing four specialized Altec trucks that have been red-tagged as unsafe. The procurement involves two 55-foot bucket trucks (Models AM60 and AM55), one 100-foot bucket truck (Model AM900-E100), and one line truck (Model D3060B-TR), all requiring comprehensive repairs including boom lift cylinders, platform assemblies, Boltron covers, leveling chains, and various mechanical components. Contractors must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Altec High Reach Boom systems and provide a pickup location within 50 miles of Vandenberg Space Force Base for service delivery. This sources sought notice has a response deadline of June 20, 2025, with interested parties required to email their firm details, CAGE code, and small business status to the contracting officers. The NAICS code 811111 for General Automotive Repair applies with a size standard of $9 million, and no evaluation criteria are specified since this is an information-gathering exercise only.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are identified in the notice. While specific contract values are not disclosed, the NAICS size standard of $9 million provides context for the potential scale of work anticipated. The procurement involves exactly four vehicles requiring service, with all repairs to be completed within 30 days of contract award once a formal solicitation is issued. The Customer Equipment Services (CES) will handle transportation of the vehicles to and from the selected repair facility, reducing logistical requirements for potential contractors. The timeline emphasizes urgency given the current unsafe status of all four vehicles, though interested parties are reminded that this RFI does not guarantee future contract opportunities. If a formal solicitation emerges, it will be posted on SAM.gov following standard federal procurement protocols.
