About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force, Air Force Test Center (AFTC) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed-price sole-source contract to Kratos Microwave, Inc. for 202 non-commercial high-power millimeter-wave (MMW) upconverter modules, with capability statements due July 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM Central Time.

The procurement consists of 192 units of Kratos part number N26-7053 and 10 units of part number N26-7054 for integration into the Radio Frequency (RF) Projection subsystem of the Advanced Multispectral Development (AMD) program within the Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF) hardware-in-the-loop test architecture. The upconverters must convert electronic signals from Intermediate Frequency of 8.5 to 11.5 GHz to Ka-band frequencies (33.0 to 36.0 GHz), deliver minimum output power of 28 dBm, maintain gain flatness of 1.25 dB, and feature WR-22 output and SMA-F input connectors.

The sole-source justification under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.103-1 asserts Kratos as the only identified source capable of meeting critical form, fit, and function requirements for seamless integration with existing GWEF software and hardware without incurring additional non-recurring engineering costs or system re-validation. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating ability to provide a drop-in component meeting exact specifications to Melissa A. Hoover (melissa.hoover.1@us.af.mil) or Dustin Sandell (dustin.sandell@us.af.mil). The solicitation number is FA2487-26-R-B021, with PSC 5996 (Amplifiers) and NAICS 334220.

Notice text

The Government requires the procurement of 202 non-commercial high-power millimeter-wave (MMW) upconverter modules.

These components are required for the Radio Frequency (RF) Projection subsystem of the Advanced Multispectral Development (AMD) program. The upconverters must receive an electronic signal at an Intermediate Frequency (IF) of 8.5 to 11.5 GHz and convert it to a higher RF in the Ka-band (33.0 to 36.0 GHz) with a minimum output power of 28 dBm and a gain flatness of ± 1.25 dB.

The Department of the Air Force, Air Force Test Center (AFTC), Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract on a sole-source basis to Kratos Microwave, Inc., located at 5870 Hellyer Ave, Suite 70 San Jose, CA 95138.

This action will be conducted under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), as implemented by RFO FAR 6.103-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements."
