About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS) at Lassen Volcanic National Park is soliciting quotations from small businesses for a hazard tree removal project at the Manzanita Lake Campground in Shasta County, California. The contractor will be responsible for removing 84 hazard trees (81 White Fir and 3 Ponderosa Pine) within a two-week period, providing all necessary supervision, labor, equipment, testing, and supplies to complete the work. The project requires working under the supervision of an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist, with strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental preservation guidelines. Evaluation for award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures, considering price and other factors to determine the most advantageous quotation. Quotations must be submitted electronically by 1700 PDT on April 23, 2025, with potential questions to be submitted via email to the designated contact.
This is a total small business set-aside procurement under NAICS code 115310 with a $34 million size standard. The government anticipates issuing a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a performance period from May 1, 2025, to May 22, 2025. Work is limited to weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with contractors permitted to work 10-hour days and prohibited from weekend work. The project is located in the Lassen Volcanic National Park Headquarters Historic District, requiring careful management of natural and cultural resources. Contractors will be responsible for felling trees, cutting them flush to the ground, and hauling away all debris. Water utilities will be available in early May, and limited bathroom facilities will be provided for the contractor's use. The park will supply a KMZ file detailing the specific tree locations for removal.
