About this opportunity

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is procuring mobile on-site hard drive destruction services through solicitation N6426725Q5036 for the secure destruction of 6,000 classified and unclassified hard drives, including solid state drives, at their headquarters in the Washington Navy Yard. The contractor must possess appropriate DoD security clearances and utilize NSA-evaluated destruction equipment capable of degaussing classified drives and shredding all drives to a 2mm particle size, with NAVSEA employees permitted to witness the destruction process. The service requires detailed tracking documentation including a classified material destruction report documenting serial numbers of all destroyed drives, and the contractor must comply with National Security Agency requirements for handling sensitive materials. The procurement will be awarded using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation criteria on an all-or-none basis to a single responsible offeror. Following Amendment 0001, the response deadline has been extended to August 1, 2025, with quotes to be submitted electronically in PDF or MS Word format to the designated email address.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under FAR Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures, with no incumbent contractor identified as this represents a new requirement for NAVSEA. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price purchase order with a performance period extending from August 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025, allowing for completion of the one-day mobile shredding service within this timeframe. The 6,000 hard drive units requiring destruction represent both classified and unclassified storage devices that must be processed during a single service event, though the Q&A document indicates the destruction could potentially span multiple consecutive days if operationally necessary. All work will be performed at the NAVSEA Headquarters facility located at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and demonstrate the technical capability to handle both the security requirements and the physical destruction specifications mandated by NSA standards.
