About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Orlando Healthcare System is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors for medical gas testing, preventative maintenance, and repair services across multiple VA facilities in Florida. The procurement seeks contractors capable of performing comprehensive medical gas system services, including quarterly and annual testing, certification, preventive maintenance, emergency and non-emergency repairs for oxygen, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, and vacuum systems. Vendors must demonstrate expertise in medical gas system management, hold specific industry certifications like ASSE 6020 and ASSE 6040, and have experience working with federal healthcare facilities. Interested firms are required to submit a qualifications letter by December 13, 2024, at 3:00 PM EST, which must include company details, SAM UEI number, socio-economic classification, and a capability statement addressing their ability to self-perform services in the Orlando area. The VA will evaluate responses based on vendors' technical capabilities, past performance, and potential to meet the detailed requirements outlined in the draft Performance Work Statement.

The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 541380 (Testing Laboratories and Services) with a size standard of $19 million, and there are no specific small business set-aside designations for this opportunity. The contract will cover a base year with four potential option years, targeting medical gas system services at the Orlando VA Medical Center, Lake Baldwin VA Clinic, and Viera VA Clinic. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible and should be prepared to provide detailed service documentation, maintain strict response times (1 hour during business hours, 4 hours after hours for emergencies), and manage various medical gas system equipment including compressors, manifolds, and alarm systems. While no specific award value is mentioned, the comprehensive scope of work suggests a significant potential contract value. Respondents are encouraged to provide examples of completed projects and evidence demonstrating their capabilities in managing complex medical gas systems for federal healthcare environments.
