About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking a small business contractor to provide grease trap cleaning services at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. The contract requires comprehensive maintenance of seven base facilities' grease traps, involving monthly pumping, cleaning, and disposal of waste materials between the 1st and 15th of each month. Contractors must provide all necessary management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor to execute the work, with specific requirements including removing grease residues, cleaning trap surfaces, clearing pipe obstructions, and transporting materials to approved off-site disposal facilities. The contractor must also be prepared to respond to emergency service calls within two hours and maintain strict compliance with base security protocols, including background checks and restricted area access procedures. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, contractors will likely be assessed on their ability to meet technical specifications, security requirements, and disposal standards.
The opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, targeting businesses within the Septic Tank and Related Services (NAICS 562991) category. The contract scope covers monthly services for grease traps ranging from 10 to 1,570 gallons across seven base locations, with work hours restricted to 7:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Contractors will be required to submit monthly reports documenting waste quantities and disposal methods, and immediately report any equipment damage or system malfunctions. The pre-solicitation was posted on December 11, 2024, with responses due by December 19, 2024, indicating a relatively tight timeline for potential bidders. A full solicitation is expected to be published at a later date, which will likely provide more detailed information about potential contract value, specific performance metrics, and comprehensive bidding requirements.
