About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy in Barbados, operating under the Department of State, is soliciting vehicle insurance services through a pre-solicitation notice posted on April 24, 2026, with a response deadline of May 15, 2026. The procurement seeks comprehensive insurance coverage for embassy vehicles and will be structured as a firm fixed-price contract with a base year plus four optional one-year renewal periods. All responsible sources are eligible to submit quotations, and the Government reserves the right to make an award based on initial offers without conducting discussions. A critical requirement mandates that all offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database with an active account at the time of proposal submission; failure to meet this requirement will render the proposal non-responsive and ineligible for consideration. The contracting officer has determined that SAM registration is in the best interest of the U.S. Government, and interested parties are strongly encouraged to register immediately if they intend to pursue this opportunity.
This pre-solicitation notice does not designate any small business set-asides, meaning competition is open to all qualified contractors regardless of size classification. The notice does not identify any current incumbent contractor or provide specific award value ranges or budget projections for the insurance services. The anticipated performance period spans five years if all option periods are exercised by the Government, though the actual contract value and specific vehicle insurance requirements will be detailed in the forthcoming full solicitation when it is released on SAM.gov. The procurement falls under NAICS code 524128 for other direct insurance carriers and PSC code G009 for non-government insurance programs, reflecting the commercial nature of the required services.
