About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency is seeking qualified vendors to provide laundry and linen services for the 14th Medical Group at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Services include pickup, weight verification, laundering, packaging, and delivery of government-owned medical linens in compliance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard 1910.1030, which mandates minimum washing temperatures of 71°C (160°F) for 25 minutes with detergent. The contractor must maintain separate containers for dirty and clean linens, provide complete plastic covering, and ensure all items are free from bacteria, fungi, and microorganisms. Pickup and delivery are required twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 0800 and 1500 hours. The government requests vendor information including company name, point of contact, UEI, CAGE Code, DUNS Number, business size, socio-economic status, and capability assessment for twice-weekly pickups, pricing feasibility, and any impediments to proposing. Responses must be submitted electronically to Ms. Meagan Askew and Ms. Khaireyal Barcia no later than 4:00 p.m. CT on February 25, 2026, and registration in SAM.gov is required for contract award.

This is a non-set-aside procurement with no identified incumbent contractor. The government's rough order of magnitude pricing ranges from $3.00 to $20.00 per item, with an estimated annual workload of approximately 3,356 pounds (5,290 pieces) comprising scrub tops, scrub bottoms, scrub jackets, lab coats, privacy curtains, towels, and blankets. The contract period of performance spans from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2031, consisting of a base period plus four one-year option periods. The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, and supervision, while the government provides a loading dock and one serviceable laundry cart. All employees handling medical linen must receive initial and annual refresher training on bloodborne pathogens, proper hand washing, personal protective equipment use, and Hepatitis B vaccination or signed waiver. Performance evaluation will include initial monthly inspections for six months, then quarterly thereafter, with failures during the initial period constituting material breach and grounds for immediate termination.
